Papel do enfermeiro gestor na promoção de ambientes da prática de enfermagem culturalmente competentes: Uma revisão integrativa

Introdução: Os atuais enfermeiros gestores são desafiados a liderar eficazmente equipas de enfermagem culturalmente diversas para melhor cuidarem em ambientes de trabalho multiculturais. A competência cultural tem sido descrita como uma ferramenta central para promover ambientes de trabalho favoráveis nas organizações, para liderar com sucesso uma força de trabalho culturalmente diversa e para planear e prestar cuidados culturalmente congruentes aos clientes. Objetivos: Analisar a evidência sobre o papel do enfermeiro gestor na promoção de ambientes da prática de enfermagem culturalmente competentes. Métodos: Revisão integrativa da literatura de artigos indexados em cinco bases de dados da plataforma EBSCO (CINAHL, MEDLINE, MedicLatina, Cohcrane Database of Systematic Reviews, Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection) e ScienceDirect. Foram considerados artigos de estudos qualitativos, quantitativos, estudos de desenho misto, revisões da literatura e artigos de opinião, publicados entre 2012 e 2022 e que apresentassem intervenções do enfermeiro líder ou gestor na promoção de ambientes da prática de enfermagem culturalmente competentes em todos os contextos onde são prestados cuidados de enfermagem. Os dados foram tratados com recurso a uma tabela de extração de dados. Resultados: Foram incluídos 11 artigos que evidenciam intervenções do enfermeiro gestor orientadas para o cuidado e intervenções orientadas para as relações na equipa, ao nível organizacional, da unidade/serviço e ao nível do enfermeiro. Conclusões: Os enfermeiros gestores devem intervir no desenvolvimento de políticas ao nível organizacional, devem melhorar a coordenação e organização dos cuidados de enfermagem e os recursos nas unidades/serviços, e devem investir na sua formação e desenvolvimento, bem como na dos enfermeiros para melhores níveis de competência cultural que conduzam à compreensão e respeito mútuo nas equipas, e à prestação de cuidados de enfermagem culturalmente congruentes a pessoas de diferentes origens culturais.
