##plugins.themes.bootstrap3.article.main##
Abstract
Introduction: autism spectrum disorders (TEA) are an early-onset condition, with difficulties related to the absence or limitations: in the use of language, social interaction and imaginative activities, as well as restricted patterns of behavior. The first manifestations of TEA appear before 36 months of age, which involves the adoption of measures for early detection of warning signs by nurses during childcare consultations in Primary Health Care. Objective: to describe nurses' perceptions about early detection of TEA warning signs in childcare consultations. Method: qualitative, exploratory study, developed through semi-structured interviews with 27 nurses from five family health units located in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The data were processed using the Iramuteq® software. The interpretations and theorization were guided by the application of Hildegard Peplau's Theory of Interpersonal Relations. The research was approved by Research Ethics Committees in Brazil Results: In this study, class 2 will be presented, called Childcare Consultations in Family Clinics as a strategy for identifying warning signs of TEA. During the assessment of child growth and development, the nurse noticed changes, strengthened interpersonal relationships with families and used the child's notebook as an assessment tool. Conclusions: The nurses' perception made it possible to identify early signs of autism spectrum disorder during childcare consultations. Furthermore, the study demonstrated the potential of the qualitative approach in revealing sensitive aspects, based on research practices that involve the approach to everyday phenomena and nurses' care for families of vulnerable children.
