Call for Papers for Volume 21, number 2: 'Qualitative Research in the African Context’

New Trends in Qualitative Research (NTQR) invites researchers and scholars from around the world to contribute their valuable insights to Volume 21, number 2: 'Qualitative Research in the African Context'. This is a unique opportunity to showcase your original work, share innovative perspectives, and contribute to the advancement of qualitative research in the dynamic and culturally diverse African context.

Authors are welcome to submit proposals for papers that align with the goals and themes of NTQR, particularly original scientific articles addressing state-of-the-art reviews and new research perspectives, solutions, and/or applications for real-world problems, empirical work, and/or evaluations, among others. Topics include:

  • Foundations and Paradigms of Qualitative Research (theoretical studies, critical reflection on epistemological, ontological, and axiological dimensions).
  • Systematization of Studies with Qualitative Approaches (literature review, result integration, study aggregation, meta-analysis, qualitative meta-analysis, meta-synthesis, meta-ethnography).
  • Qualitative Research and Mixed Methods (emphasis on research processes that rely on mixed methodologies, prioritizing qualitative approaches).
  • Typologies of Data Analysis (content analysis, discourse analysis, thematic analysis, narrative analysis, etc.).
  • Innovative Processes of Qualitative Data Analysis (analysis design, coordination, and triangulation of various data sources – images, audio, videos).
  • Qualitative Research in a Web Context (eResearch, virtual ethnography, interaction analysis, latent internet corpus, etc.).
  • Qualitative Analysis with Specific Software Support (usability studies, user experience, software impact on research and analysis quality).

  • Article submission (1st version): February 27, 2025
  • First round of reviews: March 6, 2025
  • Initial reviews starting from: April 6, 2025
  • Article submission (2nd version): May 4, 2025
  • Second round of reviews: May 9, 2025
  • Expected second reviews by: May 23, 2025
  • Final versions of articles: June 1, 2025
  • Complete editing: June 19, 2025
  • Author proofs due: June 22, 2025
  • Submission for production: June 30, 2025
