Abstract

The present study focuses on the development of oral expression in children aged 3 to 7 years through narrative tasks. Its main objective was to conduct the logical validation of a context questionnaire to evaluate teachers' perceptions of language development, the school and family context, and aspects of the students' general development. A mixed methodology (qualitative and quantitative) was used, including an exhaustive literature review, content validation of the construct through focus groups and expert committees, the design of 67 items that made up the instrument, assessment by a committee of judges, and statistical analyses of global and individual congruence levels. Through iterative processes of intersubjective consensus, the results obtained showed high levels of agreement for the three proposed dimensions (relevance, pertinence, and clarity) through descriptive analysis and Kendall's W coefficients and intraclass correlation. Although the final phase of the validation process is still pending, it is concluded that the results of this study provide a foundation for the final version of the instrument. The purpose of the instrument is to provide empirical evidence of criterion validation to compare with the results of the EVAL-LEX test, which aims to evaluate oral expression in children aged 3 to 7 years based on narrative tasks in various sociolinguistic contexts. In this way, it is expected to have a robust tool capable of contributing to the early detection of language difficulties within the school environment and thus make informed decisions to seek new strategies aimed at improving linguistic competence.
